306 artists enter bookmark contest

Hamilton’s Friends of the Library sponsored its 9 annual bookmark contest for Hamilton Public Library this semester, and 306 Ann Whitney Elementary artists in Krista Jerrell’s art classes and Misti Polster’s music classes entered their work.

Pet safety amid virus

AUSTIN – On Tuesday, the Texas Humane Legislation Network released information addressing many questions surrounding animal care during COVID-19.

On behalf of THLN, animal expert Dr. Cate McManus highlighted a range of important tips about how to keep pets safe during COVID-19:

• Have a COVID-19 family plan in place. If someone in your family does contract COVID-19, quarantine away from both pets and other family members. If you need support from a vet, check with your existing provider to see if they are providing telemedicine services for animals.

Tarleton plans to see students for fall semester

STEPHENVILLE — Tarleton State University President James Hurley announced today that the school will be prepared for students to safely return for in-person classes this fall, with a start of Aug. 20.

Along with other Texas A&M University System schools, Tarleton plans to resume on-campus operations for the fall 2020 semester, including housing and dining services at its main location in Stephenville.

For now, Tarleton will maintain virtual learning and limited on-campus operations, as has been the new normal since spring break.
