James Kinsey

 

James “Billy” Kinsey, 78, went to his final resting place on April 2, 2018, after a short illness.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 8, at Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pottsville Cemetery in Pottsville.

James was born on July 19, 1938, to Oliver “Ollie” Kinsey and Fannie “Ina” Jenkins Kinsey in Pottsville.

He was raised in the Pottsville area, and on Aug. 25, 1962, Jim married Lauwana “Lou” Ransom.

Billy proudly served our country for 22 years as a flight engineer in the Navy and was also in Vietnam. While in the military, he was also in the Jaycees. Jim served on the Pottsville Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Lauwana Kinsey; his parents, Ollie and Ina Kinsey; son-in-law Tom Masterson, two brothers-in-law, Bill Tomlinson and Phil Hivnor; and sister-in-law Sharon Kinsey.

He is survived by two daughters, Margie and husband Greg Warwas and Debra Masterson; two sons, Joel and wife Kim Kinsey and Bill Kinsey; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; two sisters, June Hivnor and Jean Tomlinson; and a brother, Dale Kinsey
