Jason Craig

Jason Lea Craig, 42, of Hamilton passed from this life to be with the Lord on Jan. 31, 2018, after battling brain cancer.

Services were held Saturday, Feb. 3, at Riley Funeral Home with burial in Oakwood Cemetery.

Jason was born June 14, 1975, in Hillsboro. He was jokingly proud of being born on Flag Day.

Jason was baptized Nov. 9, 2008, and was a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church of Hamilton.

Jason is survived by his father and mother, James and Jimmie Craig; three brothers and their families; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth, in March 1993.

Jason was not married at the time of his passing and had no children, but nevertheless enjoyed being a part of a very large family in the central Texas area.

His dad and mom live in Hamilton. His brother Mikel and wife Maria live in Waxahachie, brother Danny and wife Cindy and brother Jerry and wife Valerie all live in Hamilton.

Jason has two nieces and three nephews, and uncles, aunts, cousins and friends too numerous to list!

Jason grew up in Hamilton and attended school through junior high but then moved to Waxahachie for a few years where he graduated high school.

He moved back to Hamilton shortly after graduation and worked with his brother Danny in construction until 1999.

Jason began his own business and specialized in landscaping and mowing, and that was his chosen fields until illness struck and he was unable to work any longer.

Jason loved to buy, sell and trade almost anything, and he did just that! He was loved by many, will be missed by many, but is now celebrating life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

The family thanks Dove Hill, Riley Funeral Home and Solaris Hospice for care and concern offered during this time of grieving, and the ladies at Jonesboro for the lunch, food and flowers.
