Barbara Angeline Dodson Maynard stepped into Glory, Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, after a chronic illness.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 11, at Riley Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Oakwood Cemetery.
She was born Wednesday, June 20, 1951, in Stephenville, to Boyce O’Neil Dodson and Clara Andrews Dodson.
Mrs. Maynard was raised in Hamilton and worked at Jordan’s soda fountain while in high school. She was a respiratory therapist, an activity director and a dietary cook at Hamilton Hospital.
On Jan. 12, 1982, she married the love of her life, Darrell Eugene Maynard, in Austin. She loved making floral arrangements, was very inquisitive and always had a way of figuring things out and had a question to ask. She was good with numbers and had been the church secretary for Victory Christian Fellowship for many years until her illness left her unable to continue.
She was greatly loved and will be truly missed by many people.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Joy Dodson; her father, Boyce Dodson; her daddy, J.W. Lancaster; grandparents Alvie and Audrey Andrews; father-in-law Walter Maynard; mother-in-law Edna Faye Maynard; sister-in-law Sherry Maynard; and nephew Andrew Van Campbell.
Survivors include husband Darrell Maynard; her mother, Clara Lancaster; brother James Lancaster and wife Martha; sisters, Carla Slough and husband, Johnny and Rebecca Stevenson; nieces Cassie Lackey and husband Eric and Clarissa Lancaster and Tyler Campbell; nephew John Slough and wife Sarah; great-nieces, Carli Jo, Katie Jane, Addylyn Grace and Alora Claire; and great-nephew Trenton Ray.
