Singer/songwriter Dan Johnson will perform at the Boxcar in Hamilton Saturday around 7 p.m. to raise awareness and funds for his non-profit organization, Operation Hemmingway.

The mission of Operation Hemmingway is “to drastically reduce the rate of US veteran suicide in America.”

Operation Hemmingway's Facebook page and website states that 16 to 22 veterans take their lives in America every day.

Brandon Sommerfeld with the Boxcar said that prime rib and ribeye will be served at the event along with complimentary beverages.

Price of admission is $30 per person or $50 per couple.

“This is something that affects so many of our families, friends and neighbors,” said Sommerfeld.

“Dan is an incredible artist, and his life has been personally touched by someone close suffering from PTSD and taking their own life.

“We hope to have 50 to 60 in attendance and want to support Operation Hemmingway in any way that we can to honor and protect our loved ones and service members.”
