Mrs. Kneuper’s kindergarten class hatched chicken eggs and they started hatching on Tuesday, Feb. 8. There are nine black chickens and five yellow ones. One chicken died. It was yellow.

Chickens take 12 hours to hatch. They sat under the lights for 21 days.

Mrs. Kneuper candled them, which let us know that the eggs were fertilized.

The chickens need water. They eat chicken food. They sleep on wood shavings.

I like that they are fluffy and that they are growing feathers.
