Alice Witzscher Carr, 87, of Grand Prairie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Saint Peter Lutheran Church, 15701 Cleveland-Gibbs Road, Roanoke.

Lunch and fellowship will precede the service beginning at 11 a.m. in the barn at the church. Interment will be in Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington.

Alice was born July 28, 1936, in Hamilton to August and Frieda Witzscher. Alice met and married Bobby Carr on Jan. 24, 1954. They moved shortly after to Grand Prairie, where they raised their four children. She was a stay-athome mom until their youngest started school.

She then went to work for Bowman Distribution for the next 30 years until she retired.

After retiring, she enjoyed playing chickenfoot dominoes with her friends and babysitting her grandkids. Alice absolutely loved spending the holidays with family and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Carr; her parents, August and Frieda Witzscher; brother Wilford Witzscher; sister Deany Marwitz; and her loving daughter, Donna McKelvy.

She is survived by her son, Ricky Carr (Jane); daughters, Wanda Nickison (Robert), Gaylon Baze; her beloved grandchildren Mark Dearing (Brandi), Nathan Hamilton (Holly), John David Dearing (Danielle), Amanda Ortega (Ralph), Kim Zamarripa (Jay), Brian Carr (Kelli), Andrea Swilley (Tyler) and Bobbie Jean McKelvy; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters Carolyn Marwitz (Gaylon) and Katherine Hopper; and many nieces and nephews she really loved.

Pallbearers were Brian Carr, John Dearing, Mark Dearing, Ralph Ortega, Tyler Swilley and Jay Zamarripa The family respectfully requests memorial donations to Saint Peter Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
